More than 30 years ago, this well-maintained holiday refuge was created in the midst of a subtropical garden with an area of 6 hectares on the seawards facing part of the old country estate. Just a narrow strip of dunes separates us from the beach, sloping gently into the clean Ionian Sea.
This location by the dreamlike bay of St. George with its 8-km-long beach is too beautiful to obstruct with a four-storey tourist ghetto. And thus a Country Club in traditional style was erected, which blends in with the pristine landscape with its Greek, Venetian but also colonially influenced stylistic elements.
St. George's Bay Country Club has become popular with the many residents who emigrated to Corfu from northern countries. They meet to swim, play bridge or tennis, listen to concerts, let themselves be pampered in the wellness-spa and, after a pre-dinner drink at the Prince-Philip-Bar, enjoy the famously good cuisine of the club-restaurant "Prospero's" in the dunes by the sea.
