Environmental awareness

Environmental awareness is rewarded.
In the last 200 years, country clubs have sprung up all over the world, in which people weary of the big cities can relax and recharge their batteries in the midst of preferably unspoilt nature.

Thanks to its ideal location between the clean sea and largely unobstructed, evergreen hinterland, St. George’s Bay Country Club could be designed with the environment in mind from the very beginning, so that man and nature do not suffer any damage.

As part of our philosophy, we use mainly geothermal energy, environmental heat and solar power. A fully biologic sewage treatment plant treats the wastewater in such a way that it can be used to feed our olive groves: a green lung at the edge of the coastal town of Acharavi.

In our large, park-like garden, native vegetation mixes with tropical flora. No chemicals are used here, leaving fireflies, green lizards, geckos, turtles, dormice and many bird species to frolic.

For our guests we have arranged a large network of signposted local hiking trails, to facilitate exploring the interesting and scenic hinterland.

Our staff has been trained in environmental awareness since many years. We recycle actively and use mainly ecologically produce products, as well as bio-degradable cleaning agents.

Finally, we support local and international environmental organizations.
Our reward are the many regulars returning year after year, as well as the environmental awards we have received.
